Conflict Resolution, Mediation & Peacemaking Certificate Course
This course consists of three modules that are delivered over six days covering the topics of conflict resolution, mediation and peacemaking. Each participant also completes a short assignment and makes a presentation to the group which normally takes place one month after the end of the course on an agreed date. Accreditation
This six day course is recognized for accreditation purposes as a basic professional mediation training course under the Mediators Institute of Ireland (www.themii.ie), the professional association for mediators in Ireland. It can lead to a MII Certificate of Practice when a video assessed role play has been completed. This assessment facility will be provided following completion of the course for an additional fee of €250 per person.
The course director is Geoffrey Corry BA(Mod) MSc(Mgmt) HDipEd. He has facilitated over 50 political dialogue workshops at Glencree during the peace process years 1994-2006 and shared his experiences in Colombia, Haiti and the Middle East. He is a former chairman of the Centre. He is also a senior part-time mediator with the state-run Family Mediation Service and has mediated over a thousand marital separation/divorce cases since 1991. He has acted as a facilitator and mediator in a number of settings: workplace and business disputes, restorative justice, community, neighbour, church and multi-party environmental disputes. He has served as the staff representative 2005-2010 on the Board of the Family Support Agency and as former chair 1999-2003 of the Mediators Institute of Ireland.
He is the founder of Tallaght Community Mediation and has trained and assisted mediators to set up community mediation schemes over the past number of years in Ballymun, Northside Mediation (Coolock), Border Counties Mediation (Cavan) and Mayo (Castlebar).

Monday 8th August - Saturday 13th August 2011. Assignments Day to be held one month later on an agreed date.
Monday: 10.00 - 6.00
Tuesday - Friday: 9.30 - 5.45
Saturday: 9.30 - 5.00
Cost of Courses:
€895 (including lunch and tea/coffee).
Please note that any overnight accommodation that is required must be pre- booked, the cost is €30.00 b/b in shared en-suite rooms, dinner must also be pre booked at a cost of €16.00.
