Glencree Honorary President

Dear Visitor,

Welcome to the website of the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation.

The Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation is a unique facility based in the Wicklow Hills, entirely devoted to the building of peace and reconciliation across all divides. Glencree welcomes all groups and individuals who share this ideal.

Despite the historic and most welcome achievements of the Good Friday Agreement in 1998, the daily task of building peace for everyone involved in the conflict and those who have suffered as a result is still with us. The work of bringing divided peoples and communities together is more urgent than ever if we are to achieve a long lasting peaceful, civil society on the Island.

In order to develop and maintain the vital work of the Glencree Centre significant support is needed from the community, and in particular the Business Community so that the wide range of centre programmes can reach as many people as possible.

The future growth and development of the Centre adds to the hopes we all share for a peaceful future. Please help us realise some of the objectives, hopes and aspirations of all those working for peace in Glencree. Together we can play a part in building peace and investing in a better future.
