Peace Walk 2021

5th Annual Glencree Peace Walk

Our sincere thank you to all Peace Walkers who joined us on Sunday 19 September for the 5th Annual Glencree Peace Walk. We thank Minister for European Affairs, Thomas Byrne TD, for officially launching our #Walk4Peace and joining members of the diplomatic corps, supporters who came from far and wide, the Glencree Board and staff in this years walk from the Glencree Centre.

Marking International Day of Peace and in support of our peace and reconciliation work, the 9km peace walk across the Wicklow mountains was one of camaraderie, fun, nature and breath-taking views. Over 70 champions of peace walked together for close to 3 hours before returning to our peace campus for a hearty barbecue, followed by a celebratory cake thoughtfully provided by Ambassador of the Netherlands to Ireland, Adriaan Palm. Our sincere thanks also to the wonderful young quartet who joined us from Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann and treated us to an afternoon of traditional Irish music as we relaxed together in the grounds of Glencree. (see video below)

Our Peace Walk fundraiser continues throughout September with all money raised going to our work in support of individuals & communities impacted by conflict. If you would like to fundraise or make a donation, you can do so using the buttons below. With our warm and grateful thanks for your continued support. #glencree4peace
