Our Friends from Belfast

 

Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation in cooperation with Partners in Catalyst are delighted to announce a series of public talks. The ‘Our Friends from Belfast’ series features leading people from loyalist areas of Belfast speaking every Thursday (1-2 pm) at Dublin’s Liberty Hall on how loyalists see the Republic of Ireland.

The opening talk will be given by Billy Hutchinson, leader of the small left-of-centre Progressive Unionist Party, on Thursday 19 November. On the following four Thursdays the speakers will be Linda Ervine (East Belfast Irish language promoter – 26 November);  Philip Orr (historian of First World War period – 3 December);  Julie Anne Corr (gay PUP member of Belfast City Council – 10 December) and Robert Niblock (East Belfast playwright – 17 December).

Everybody is welcome to attend, no registration is necessary and admission is free.
